This zero waste dishwashing set includes No Tox Life Dishwashing Bar, 3 pack Eco-Sponge and Bamboo Pot Scrubber or Long Handle Brush
Zero Waste Dishwashing Bar
No tox life Zero Waste Dish Block® dishwashing soap is a cleaning powerhouse with a rich, sudsy lather. Cuts stubborn grime and grease on dishes, pots and pans. With added aloe vera to be gentle on your hands. Completely unscented and fragrance-free.
You can even use it for cleaning-duty all over your home. Take stains out of laundry, take labels off of jars, spot clean your carpet, use it to wipe down counters... it's a truly multipurpose product.
Each 5.9 oz bar of dish soap will last a LONG time. Time estimates vary based on household size and number of dishes washed.
How to use: Scrape dishes to remove excess grease and food. Wet sponge, for plates, bowls and cups, and rub Dish Block® soap to create suds. (Repeat as needed to refresh suds.) Wash items and rinse well. Works in warm or cold water. We prefer warm water for best results. For pots and pans, use a scrubber or scourer.
Please note: using a strong scourer or scrubber exclusively on the block will wear it down faster than using a soft sponge or cloth.
For extra sparkly dishes: wipe dishes dry with a cloth.
Pro kitchen tip: Use the same Dish Block® suds to clean your sink when it gets dirty, this can be used on porcelain, stainless, stone and glass sinks safely. We have seen customers use it to clean dirty & stained oven top surfaces as well!
3 pack Eco-Sponge
No Tox Life 100% biodegradable and compostable Eco-Sponges replace soft plastic sponges at the sink for dish washing.
How to use for dish washing: Rub Eco-Sponge on no tox life dish block® or pump liquid dish soap on the Eco-Sponge and lather up dishes as usual. It will create a nice bubbly foam just like an ordinary sponge, but without creating micro plastics that wash down the drain.
Longevity: For best longevity, rinse clean and squeeze dry after using, then place it in a dry spot where it can drain. If you leave it damp it will grow bacteria and mold, since it's made from natural plant fiber. We recommend replacing it every month with a fresh one. Comes with a pack of 3.
Notes: If you use a heavy amount of animal grease when cooking, you might replace more often, or wash it with soap several times to dislodge stuck grease. You can sanitize the sponge by microwaving the damp sponge for 20 seconds, or dipping in boiling water. Sanitizing and cleaning your sponge can help extend the life of it.
End of life: Once you're ready to replace your sponge, compost the old one or bury it in the garden. It is completely biodegradable, made of natural plant fiber and doesn't contain any plastics or synthetics.
Multipurpose: Take one of the sponges and use it exclusively for the body, it makes a great exfoliating body sponge.
Bundle: Includes one bundle of 3 sponges, enough for around 3-4 months of disMindfulGoodsh washing.
Bamboo Pot Scrubber
Bamboo pot scrubber helps you replace plastic pot scrubbers in the kitchen!
This heavy duty scrub brush has stiff plant fiber bristles to scrub pots and pans and stuck on food.
Replaces: plastic scrub brushes. Designed for stuck on food and heavy stains, including for cast iron pots. Can be used on non-stick pans, just be more gentle with it.
Longevity: Each brush can be used for 1-3 months. Do not leave any of the wood parts soaking in water, the wood will absorb water and it will cause the wood to swell and crack. Hang to dry or place in a dry spot after using it.
If you find your brush is not staying dry, dip the bristles in vinegar occasionally to help kill bacteria. The Moso bamboo is naturally antibacterial but the vinegar will help too.
Continue using this brush until the bristles no longer work, then compost or bury in garden or dispose in a green waste bin. Stop using the brush and replace it if you see any mold growth.
Storage and Care: To reduce cracking, keep the wood parts dry and do not soak or submerge them in water. You can oil your brushes to reduce the potential of cracking if you regularly submerge your dish brushes in water.
Using with our dish washing block®: Keep in mind that when using No Tox Life's dish washing block®, a soft sponge on most dishes is ideal for best longevity. If you use a hard bristle brush on all dishes, you will wear down the dish block faster than a sponge and might dig a hole in the middle of the block.
End of life: Once worn out, the bamboo and plant fiber parts can be composted or buried in the garden.
Long Handle Dish Brush
Bamboo sustainable dish brush swap helps you replace plastic dish brushes in the kitchen!
This removable-head dish brush has a white teakwood or bamboo handle and brush head, with stiff agave fiber (vegan) plant bristles. It is held together with silver metal wire, and includes a small wire loop at the end for hanging dry.
Replaces: plastic handled dish brushes. Can be used to wash general dishes as well as to loosen stuck on food.
Longevity: Each brush head can be used for 1-3 months or longer. Make sure to not submerge or soak the wooden parts in water. Hang to dry or place in a dry spot after using it.
If you find your brush head is not staying dry, dip the bristles in vinegar occasionally to help kill bacteria. The wood and bamboo are naturally antibacterial but the vinegar will help too.
Continue using this brush until the bristles no longer work or the brush head falls apart, then compost or bury in garden or dispose in a green waste bin. Stop using the brush and replace it if you see any mold growth.
Storage and Care: To reduce cracking, keep the bamboo parts dry and do not soak or submerge them in water. Cracking is normal for brushes over time. They are biodegradeable and won't last forever like plastic!
The brush head is fully replaceable so when it's worn out, slide it out from the metal wire and replace the head. Keep reusing the handle until it is worn out. Don't apply undue pressure on the handle or it will break.
Replacing the brush head: The first time, it is a little stiff to bend the wires and you may need to use a pair of pliers to loosen it. (use caution). The subsequent times, you can use strong fingers to squeeze the wires together, loosen the metal grip, and pop off the brush head. Just slide a new brush head on and replace the metal grip that holds it tight.
Using with our Dish Block®: Keep in mind that when using our Dish Block®, a soft sponge on most dishes is ideal for best longevity. If you use a hard bristle brush on all dishes, you will wear down the Dish Block® faster than a sponge and might dig a hole in the middle of the soap.
End of life: Once worn out, the wood or bamboo and agave parts can be composted or buried in the garden, the silver metal parts can be recycled.
Why it matters: Plastic bristle brushes shed tiny pieces of plastic called micro plastics. Unfortunately these tiny plastic pieces are not filtered out fully by sewage treatment. So when you hear about the "Great Pacific Garbage Patch" the majority of this garbage patch in the Pacific Ocean is actually tiny pieces of plastic that aren't even visible to the human eye.
Works great, plenty of suds and looks so much better than a plastic bottle
This is a great package, I love everything about it and it worked amazing! This is great if you are trying to go zero waste!!
I love this set. Great for gift giving as well. I intend to purchase many for as holiday gifts. The brush is great on our iron skillets, which we use most days and the sponge is a wonderful alternative to plastic sponges! The wood soap dish is sturdy and attractive. I use the soap on less greasy items, which it does great with. Great product overall!
I fell in love with this zero waste dishwashing set. Super simple to use and helps clean my dishes! My only complain is how fast the dish block went, maybe because it was the smaller size but overall, I love this set. 10/10 recommend if you want to start being a zero waste household!
I just moved into my first apartment and purchased this for my kitchen. Not only is this set minimal, sustainable, and functional, it actually motivates me to do my dishes quicker because everything I need is right on top of the sink! Awesome product, and will definitely purchase again :)
